Obituary of Stephen Robert Kwasniewski

Wardsboro, VT/Palmer, MA-Stephen R. Kwasniewski, "Kwaz", 55, passed away unexpectedly on March 3, 2024. Born December 11, 1968 in Ware, MA, he is son of Stephen S. and Doris (Rolla) Kwasniewski of Palmer. Stephen grew up in Palmer and graduated from Palmer High School. He also attended New England College as well as STCC. In his youth, "Kwaz" played several musical instruments and was a water ski champion. Through the years as a talented finish carpenter, Stevie worked with his father, Steve, for Steve Kwasniewski Home Improvements. He is most well known for being the head snowboard coach at Mt Snow for 17 years and trained many talented athletes, such as 1st time Olympic Gold Medalist for the US in snowboarding in 2002, Kelly Clark. Other outdoor activities that Stephen enjoyed included fishing, hunting and boating along with many games of golf at Mill Valley Golf Course in Belchertown and Mt Snow Golf Course. His daily crossword puzzles and skateboarding also filled his days with activity. Stephen's memory will forever remain with his parents, Stephen and Doris of Palmer as well as his only son, Luke Stephen Kwasniewski of Palmer and his former wife, Laura (Pascale) Kwasniewski. His aunt, Janet Austin, and aunt and uncle and godparents, Elaine and Francis Moran as well as many cousins also survive him. Visitation will be held Monday, March 11 from 4-7 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home and Tuesday, March 12 from 9-11 a.m. and a graveside service will be held at Sts Peter & Paul Cemetery at 11:30 a.m. The family wishes to thank the first responders that assisted Stephen and his family at their time of need. Kwaz's legacy will continue to live on with his gift of tissue donation and that generous decision was very well known by his family.
