Obituary of Joshua William Bishop

Joshua William Bishop, 16, of Wales, Massachusetts passed away February 24, 2024, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts with his loving family by his side. He was born on June 4, 2007, in Southbridge, Massachusetts to John and Amy (Horne) Bishop. Josh was a lifelong resident of Wales and was a student in the Pathways program at Tantasqua Regional High School in Sturbridge. He loved going to school and being around his classmates, teachers and aides. Joshua embraced many activities, one which included running with Team Hoyt and had the privilege of having his fellow classmate, Paige Spooner as his running partner since the 6th grade. Joshua also enjoyed participating in Special Olympic with enthusiasm with his friends and classmates for several years. He loved being outside, especially if there was water around. He loved the beach, swimming and going for rides on his grandparents' boat in New Hampshire. His family and friends will always remember him for his joyful attitude, his sweetness and kindness toward everyone. Joshua had a smile that could melt your heart and make you love him instantly. Joshua is survived by his loving parents, John and Amy and his brothers, Robert and Jackson Bishop, all of Wales. He also leaves his grandparents Normand and Donna Antoniades of Ocala FL, Richard Horne of Port Orange, FL and William Bishop of Middleton, MA. He will also be missed by his cherished dogs Emma, Eddie, Lexi, and his cat Twister. He was predeceased by his grandmother Suzanne Horne. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 4, 2024, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. A private celebration of life will be held for Joshua with family and friends.
