Obituary of Elizabeth L. Morrison

Palmer - Elizabeth "Betty" L. (Zabik) Morrison, 92, a lifelong resident of Palmer, passed away on February 4, 2024, at Baystate Wing Hospital with family by her side. She was born on June 10, 1931, in Palmer, MA, daughter of John and Elizabeth (Tenczar) Zabik. She was the loving wife of William “Bill” Morrison for 69 years until his passing last year. She began her working career as a secretary at Better Brushes, then spent over 30 years as an executive administrative assistant at Tambrands until her retirement. Betty was a lifelong member of Divine Mercy Parish in Three Rivers and participated weekly in the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. She worked the Palmer election polls for many years and was a member of the Women's Auxiliary at Baystate Wing Hospital, where she was on the Board of Directors and did the financials for the gift shop. She also enjoyed quilting with the Quaboag Valley Quilters Guild. She will be greatly missed by her children, Pamela Haveles and her husband, Robert, and John Morrison and his wife, Shannon, all of Palmer, as well as her sister, Carol Doyle and her husband, Jack, of Monson. Betty also leaves seven grandchildren: Joshua Haveles of Framingham; Andrew Haveles of Stillwater, MN; Kayla Hopper of Palmer; Katie Morrison-O'Day of Millbury; and John, Mia, and Lily Morrison, all of Palmer, as well as seven great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life and she was a huge part of their lives. Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, from 8:30am-9:30am at the at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00am at Divine Mercy Parish. The burial will follow in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. For those wishing, donations may be made to Divine Mercy Parish or Women’s Auxiliary at Baystate Wing Hospital.
