Obituary of Lorraine B Arny

South Hadley - Lorraine B. (Chapdelaine) Arny, 94, passed away May 21, 2023, at Holyoke Healthcare Center. She was born on March 9, 1929, in Bridgeport, CT to William and Blanch (Freddette) Chapdelaine. Lorraine has lived in South Hadley since 1951, she worked in sales at Chapdelaine Funiture for 33 years. She was a communicant of St. Annes Church in Fairview. She was a lifetime member of the S. Hadley Sporting Club, and a past president of the Cerebral Palsy Organization. Lorraine enjoyed playing cards with friends at Hubert's Place and playing games with her family. She is survived by a daughter Donna Stapley of South Hadley and siblings, Jean Dean of Holyoke, William Chapdelaine of S. Hadley and Marie Gaudrault of Chicopee. She also leaves two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas E. Arny, and two children, Laura and Thomas Arny. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, May 25th from 9:30-10:30 am at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:00am at St. Anne's Church. Burial will be held in Precious Blood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her memory to Holyoke Soldiers Home or Cerebral Palsy Foundation.
