Obituary of Tyler Christopher Chateauneuf

Chicopee- Tyler Christopher Chateauneuf, 14, passed away unexpectedly on March 15, 2023. He was born on April 5, 2008 in Springfield, the son of Christopher and Alison (Duffy) Chateauneuf. Tyler was a freshman at Chicopee Comprehensive High School and was on the Varsity Swim & Dive Team. He also swam for the Chicopee Amberjacks and formerly swam for the South Hadley Swords. Swimming was everything to Tyler and he was looking forward to becoming a life guard for his first job. He also enjoyed playing Minecraft and Roblox with friends and family. He had a mind for solving puzzles and strategical games, and was an amazing Chess player. Tyler is survived by his parents, as well as his younger sister, Kacey Chateauneuf. He also leaves his maternal grandparents, Al and Joan Duffy; paternal grandparents, Raymond and Joann Chateauneuf; aunts, Audrey Chateauneuf and Mandy Markiewicz; uncles, Rob Chateauneuf and wife Shauna, and Craig Duffy and partner Carlos Vicenty; as well as many other close family members, friends, teammates, and neighbors. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25th from 1:00-4:00pm at the Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home. Tyler's funeral will be held privately for the family.
