Obituary of Alyce May McConchie

North Attleboro- Alyce May McConchie, 80, passed away August 11, 2022 after a long battle with cancer. She was born on June 18, 1942 in Palmer to the late Wilfred and Antoinette (Jajuga) Tenczar. After graduating from Palmer High School in 1960, Alyce began working as a secretary at Monsanto for several years and continued her career as an office manager for companies like C.F. Church and Mass Electric before relocating to North Attleboro in 1971 with her late husband, Robert. Following the move, Alyce also went on to work for Robert's company, SPL Marketing. After stepping away from that work, Alyce taught English as a second language to students at the Attleboro Library and a local learning center. Alyce loved sports and was an avid jogger, and enjoyed playing and watching tennis and baseball. She was also very well versed in baseball statistics and was a fan of the Boston Red Sox. Besides her parents, Alyce was predeceased by her husband, Robert S. McConchie, in 2016 and by her brother, Frederick Tenczar, in 2017. She will be dearly missed by her son, Brian McConchie, of Columbia, SC; her sister, Virginia Masnicki and husband Ron, of Palmer; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and many friends who were like family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18th from 9:30-10:30am at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Alyce's Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00am at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Palmer with her burial to follow in Hillside Cemetery in Monson. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alyce's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 125 S. Huntington Ave. Boston, MA 02130.
