Obituary of Lois Jane Dorn

Lois "Janie" Jane (Bliss) Dorn, 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday April 24, 2022 at home surround by her loving family. Daughter of the late Frederick and Aldoria (DiFederico) Bliss, she was born in Springfield on April 15, 1942. Growing up in Springfield, she graduated from High School of Commerce. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart & late husband, John Howard Dorn and together, they started a family. She worked as an administrative secretary for several medical offices, later retiring from Mass Mutual in 1997.

After retirement, Lois volunteered as a docent for the Springfield Museums and later on, for many years at the Belchertown Senior Center. Lois was an extensive traveler with her family and friends, touring Europe and the United States.

Lois will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her, including her children Brenda deLiefde (Philip) of Feeding Hills, her son John Dorn (Christine) of West Springfield, her daughter Lisa Grencho of Springfield; her grandchildren Erik, Adam, Elizabeth; her great grandson, Carson; her siblings James Bliss, Donald Bliss, Sarah "Sally" Bigelow, and Frederick Bliss, Jr; her long-time partner, Edward Kumpulanian of Belchertown; as well as many extended family members and friends.

Visitation will be Friday, April 29, 2022 from 2:00pm-5:00pm at Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple Street. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
