Obituary of Julie Anne Smith

Warren- Julie Anne Smith passed away at the young age of 67 on Christmas day, 2021 at Baystate Hospital in Springfield. Julie was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on July 1, 1954 to the late Donald B. and Lorraine O. (Gregoire) Norton. She was a woman who had an enthusiasm to care for others, including devoting her time and funds to ASPCA, being a foster mother and motherly figure to many and being a member of Warren Fire Department Women’s Club. In addition to her love of gardening, her greatest love in life was her family. She was a devoted employee at Monson Developmental Center and retired as an office manager 13 years ago,  Julie enjoyed playing her guitar in the folk group at St. Christopher's in which she started 54 years ago.  She had a love of holidays with her family and could always be counted on to make her famous potato salad for any summer BBQ.  Julie will be deeply missed by her only daughter Serena Smith of Warren. She is also survived by her sister Jackie Marchand and her husband Alan of Brimfield and her three grandchildren; Aiden, Rhea and Killian. She will also be missed by many of her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Julie is predeceased by her husband, Michael Smith. She is also predeceased by her sisters Lorrie Baird and Donna Capistron.

Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. Services have been postponed to visitation on Saturday January 22nd from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Christopher's Church with a funeral Mass to begin at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Catholic Women’s Club of St. Christopher’s Church.
