Obituary of Robert William Manseau

Robert William Manseau, age 76, passed away on Monday, November 22, 2021. Robert was born in Lowell, Massachusetts on April 25, 1945 to Oscar William Manseau and Jacqueline Irene (Leblanc) Manseau.

Robert graduated from Lowell High School in 1963 and proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1963-1967. He was a Vietnam War veteran and belonged to the American Legion and Massachusetts Free Masons. He worked as an engineering technician for 23 years at Digital Equipment Corporation and later at Ludlow Technical Products.

Robert was a man of strong faith. He belonged to the St. Philip’s Episcopal Church in Easthampton, Massachusetts and served as a Lay Eucharistic Minister for over twenty years.

Of all Robert’s roles in his life, the ones he cherished most were that of loving husband, father, and grandfather. He married the love of his life, Nancy Lee (Koch) Manseau on May 3, 1973 and spent the next 48 years by her side raising their family together and modeling respect, care, and compassion for others. Robert enjoyed the outdoors and taking his family on camping trips to the D.A.R. State Park in Goshen, in the White Mountains, and by the ocean in Maine. Robert was the most generous type of human who would gladly give you the shirt off his back. He loved cracking jokes and making his family laugh, doing his crossword puzzles, and watching and learning from his programs on the History Channel. Robert had so much love and pride for all of his children and grandchildren and he will be dearly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Robert was predeceased by his father Oscar, his mother Jacqueline, and his brother Dennis. Robert leaves behind his devoted wife Nancy Lee of Ware; their five children, Richard Clifford and his wife Denise of Easthampton, MaryAnn Kortes of Belchertown, Eric Clifford and his wife Erin, of Hudson, New Hampshire, his daughter Jennifer Wood and her husband Charles of Fairfax, Vermont, and his daughter Rebecca Coughlin and her husband Warren of Ware. He also leaves behind his beloved twelve grandchildren.

In keeping with Robert’s wishes, family services and burial will be held at the convenience of his family. For those who wish, contributions in Robert’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org/donate.
