Obituary of Jamie B. Mercier

Jamie B. (Wawryszyn) passed away at the hospice of the Fisher home on September 24, 2021. She was born in Holyoke, the daughter of Raymond F. and Jane B. (Zakrocki) Wawryszyn. She attended South Hadley High School graduating as class Salutatorian. She received her BA from Mount Holyoke College and her Masters Degree from Wesleyan University. She taught English at Lyndon Institute in Vermont, the Macduffie School, Wilbraham & Monson Academy and Holyoke Catholic High School. She also served as the editor of the New England Antiques Journal. Jamie is survived by her husband of 51 years, Edward, and her daughter Mary Kate Majkowski and her spouse Martin. A calling hour will be held on Friday, October 1st from 9:00 am-10:00am followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 am all in St. Patrick's Church in South Hadley. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery.
