Obituary of Elwood P. Myers

Granby -Elwood "Oz" P. Myers,  88, passed away peacefully October 1, 2020.  He was born on October 28, 1931 in Middletown, PA to Emery and Helen (Houdeshell) Myers.  Oz proudly served his country in the US Air Force for 20 years and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.   After his military career he went to work for the United States Postal Service as a mail handler.  Oz took pleasure in watching horse racing and enjoyed his workouts at the Westover Gym. He also was an incredible father and loyal friend.  Elwood is survived by his wife of 70 years, Muriel (Norris) Myers of Granby, three children; Thomas and Laurel Myers of Houston, TX,  Cathy Myers of Granby, and Sharon and Kevin Quesnel of South Hadley.  He will also be missed by two grandchildren; Kelli Quesnel and Thomas Jr. and Amanda Myers and their children, Grace and Molly.  Burial is private at the Mass. Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  Beers & Story South Hadley Funeral Home was entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the Hospice Program at the VA Hospital, 421 N. Main St., Leeds, MA 01053.
