Obituary of Stella Mae Sabourin

" Stella M. (Joyal) Sabourin, 83, of Dublin St., died Jan. 20 in Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, VA. She was born in Tupper Lake, NY on Jan. 7, 1919, and was the daughter of the late Charles & Gertrude (Barrett) Joyal. Stella has lived in Palmer since 1958, and previously had lived in N.Brookfield and New York. She was a registered nurse for 20 years at the Monson Developmental Center and retired Aug. 13, 1977. She was a communicant of St. Thomas Church, and was the former cook at St. Thomas rectory for Fr. Lepire. She also served coffee & donuts during CCD for over 20 years, was a former chancellor and member of Daughters of Isabella, and also a member of the Palmer Senior Center. She is the wife of the late Leonard Sabourin (1986). Stella is survived by 4 daughters Barbara LaBombard w/ whom she lived, Frances Ogren of Woburn, Mary Brodeur of Palmer & Martha Romanik of Fairfax, VA, and a son Edward of Indian Orchard, also a sister Theresa Tyler of Perry, NY , and 11 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren. A funeral service will be Sat. at 9:15am from the BEERS & STORY PALMER FUNERAL HOME, followed by a mass of Christian liturgy at 10:00am in St. Thomas Church. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday from 2-4 & 7-9pm.
